Build it your way

The Spider Table's dimensions are easily adjustable. Things like length, width and height are easy to change to make the piece your own.

"The build was amazing. The videos that accompanied the plans are fun to watch, supplemental, and to the point. I really liked how you give the builder several options to accommodate a wider audience."

-Brett Thorne

Frequently asked questions

What do I need to get started?

TOOLS AND HARDWARE

This is not a comprehensive list. Just some guidelines, and a list of the major tools, bits, and hardware that we used. Obviously we don't know what you have, but even with a much more modest workshop, it's highly likely that you can still find a way to complete this project. Skill and patience will always take you further than another tool.

Table Saw

Jointer

Planer

Circular Saw (or Track Saw)

Router

Domino (or Doweling Jig / Pocket Hole Jig)

Round Over Bit

How much wood do I need?

Materials (specifics and options given in plans, and any species works)

5/4 hardwood for table top

8/4 hardwood for base pieces

scrap plywood or MDF for jig making

* Roughly 20 BF (specifics are covered in the plans)

What specific techniques will this course teach?

Panel making, tapered splayed legs without templates. Splined joinery.

Do I need templates?

No. Templates are not required for this build.

What's the difficulty level of this piece?

Coming Soon.

Why are your courses so expensive?

The short answer is...they're not!

Ok, here's a better answer.

You're probably looking at this course for 1 of two reasons.

  1. You're already a pretty good woodworker, and you want to build this specific piece because you like it, or...
  2. You're looking to learn and improve through the scope of building this piece.

If you fall into that first group. Let's be honest...these plans could cost $5, $25, $90, or even $200, and at any of those prices it's going to make up for a small percentage of the actual cost by the time you factor in your materials, tools, and most importantly your time.

Our plans cover everything, to make sure that you do things right, the first time. No waste, no frustration...just results.

At the end of the day. You might be able to find a cheaper dresser plan. But you won't find a better one. And saving $40 to end up with a worse dresser, that you'll live with for the rest of your life, doesn't seem worth it. At least to me.
